SAP Labs China
Founded in 1997, SAP Development Center China was later officially established as SAP Labs China on November 20, 2003. As one of the eight SAP global Research and Development Centers , it plays a key role in design and development, as well as leading products delivery for global, Asia Pacific and China markets. SAP Labs China provides end-to-end product development, specifically focusing on small and mid-size businesses, financial and human resource management and Netweaver development.
As a strategic R&D center, SAP Labs China has become one of the fastest growing subsidiaries of SAP. Within 2004 alone, employee growth rate doubled. By October 2005, SAP Labs China became the fifth SAP R&D center with over 450 employees. With the construction of the new campus located in Shanghai Pudong Software Park , SAP Labs China has further strengthened its commitment to the regional and local market, while maintaining a high-speed growth rate. It also plans to increase the employee staff to 1500 by 2008 and sustain its position as a world-class R&D center.

SAP Global Service Center Chengdu
As the latest research institute of SAP Labs China, SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) was founded in March 2006 in Chengdu . Geographically well-positioned, SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) draws upon local talent in Chengdu and Western China . Located at Tianfu Software Park in Chengdu 's hi-tech zone, SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) is approximately 10 kilometers away from the downtown area.
Chengdu 's excellent infrastructure allows SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) to provide productized service globally to small and mid-sized enterprise customers, global partners and SAP internally. In July 2006, SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) was officially appointed as the first global service center outside of Germany . SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) is fully committed to developing a new generation of software and providing productized service to small and mid-size enterprises. SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) is devoted to raising the technical level of the software industry in Western China , and providing large numbers of employment opportunities for hi-tech industries in the local area.
SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) has grown into SAP Global Service Center headquarter and plays an important role in SAP global research and development. The center has set up three teams. The teams are Service Center , Partner Service Delivery team and Knowledge Productization Services team.
SAP Global Service Center (Chengdu) as an integral part of SAP Research Development system has been established to compete in the global market utilizing SAP advanced management methodology and abundant industry experiences and knowledge. SAP Global Service Center ( Chengdu ) will use unique management and operation techniques to innovate a new business model – “Software-as-a-Service” through continuous accumulation and investment in R&D and human capital.
